When you name your band The Hotdamns you better live up to it. Have a little spark and fire. Maybe something that makes you want to grab a bottle of whiskey and pour shots for everyone around you. Nothing on the Vanquished EP makes you want to do that. Instead you’ll find some decent if not stirring indie country. These guys have a long way to go before they’re the next Cowboy Junkies but I’m pretty sure I’d give their ode to the great “Mr. Williams” a spin or two if it were available on my local watering hole’s juke box.
