They, The Underserving
Giants

With CD sales on the decline, it's obvious people are downloading most of their music. Really, that's a whole different story than what I'd like to tell but, as result, niche genres have formed that thrive from internet buzz and need no label help, really, at all. One of the forerunners of this movement might very well be Iowa's Giants.
Mixing the best of Explosions In The Sky, The Appleseed Cast, and Unwed Sailor, these midwesterners are making uptempo, melodic instrumental music perfect for any vacation flight, late night drive, or early morning walk.
They, The Undeserving is a huge leap forward compared to their earlier self-released EP. Song structure is stronger and focuses more on the album as a whole as compared to each song individually, as heard in the transition between the first two tracks. The entire album seems to breath and have patience, as parts slowly blend together to form a larger theme then slowly layer into another song.
They, The Underserving is one of the strongest releases this year and highly recommended for fans of Explosions In The Sky, Unwed Sailor(The Faithful Anchor Era), or The Six Parts Seven.
