”Mammoth Press Online” is the sole owner of the information collected on MammothPress.com; or any related pages. “Mammoth Press Online” collects only information submitted by the user: contests, forums, merchandise, banner-ad, mailing lists, etc. However at no point is does this information leave our online or offline computers/servers/databases; furthermore this information is periodically deleted. [i.e. the close of a contest or promotion, opting out of an email list, etc...]
Third Party Advertising
The ads appearing on this Web site are delivered to users by our web advertising partners. Information about users’ visit to this site, such as number of times they have viewed an ad (but not user name, address, or other personal information), is used to serve ads to users on this site.
Like most standard web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. This is does not apply for posted areas, where your IP is logged and the information you provided to log/attempt to log into those areas. If you are found to try to access areas that are forbidden, actions by “Mammoth Press Online” may include, but are not limited to ‘IP Ban’, emails, or legal prosecution. We are protecting our information as well as our users information.
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
Some of our third party advertising companies may employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. “Mammoth Press Online” does not use these clear gifs, but they may be in advertiser’s sold space. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users’ personally identifiable information.
Communications from the Site
If a user wishes to subscribe to our email list, we ask for contact information such as name, state (for demographic uses), and email address. Signing up for a contest will sign you up for our email list, and the email list of the contest sponsor(s). We are not in the business of spamming, we WILL NOT use your email address for anything more than a monthly update. To be removed from our email list(s), please follow instructions on the mailing list page. Furthermore our email lists are controlled in-house, and your email address will not be viewed by any third party.
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. Our site requests information from users via surveys or contests.
